March 2008 saw the launch of ‘Take to the
stage’. This is the name given to a brand new
series of workshops aimed at those wishing to
develop their acting skills. An enthusiastic
group of acting students met for the first time
in March and the plan now is to meet monthly to
establish a Total Vocal acting group. Initially
the workshops will be largely improvisation
based, the intention being to free up the actor,
release inhibition and to promote quick
thinking. We are still keen to hear from more
of you who might like to join this group,
although we are really looking for those who
would be willing to attend on a monthly basis.
These 2-hour sessions take place on Monday
evenings and only cost £10 per person. Click

Last year Total
Vocal took The Stables theatre by storm with a
full-on vocal spectacular. In 2006 we took an
open-air showcase to the Milton Keynes shopping
centre. This year, plans for a summer concert
are currently in discussion. The venue and date
are yet to be announced…
This is a meeting place for all those who love
to sing.
We would encourage as many singers, performers,
songwriters, in fact anyone with an interest in
singing, to
register and
participate. You can exchange opinions, ask for
advice, read reviews, pick up technical tips
promote yourself and
find out about auditions, gigs and shows. In
fact just about anything can be discussed within
the forum. It has only been running since July
and is already receiving high numbers of
visitors. It is an open and public forum as well
as a valuable resource for singers, performers,
songwriters and artists everywhere. Why not

Theatre Trips
We recently took a group of 50 people
to see the smash-hit Broadway and West End
musical ‘Wicked’.
This is one of the most talked about musicals of
all time and is currently taking the nation by
storm. We
were
able to offer
top price
seats
for a fraction of their normal cost.
Last year we took a similar trip to ‘We will
rock you’ and the year before to ‘Miss Saigon’.
Plans are already afoot for a ‘Les Miserables’
